Pet Peeve Alert: Stop Saying "Sorry!"

This whole "Sorry!" thing is getting old, ladies. You do not need to apologize when you do nothing wrong.

You don't need to apologize to the person who wasn't looking and stepped on your foot. You don't need to apologize if you have wet hair at dinner. You don't need to apologize for someone not holding the door open for you. And for goodness sakes, you don't need to apologize when the other person is late!

Yes, you should apologize when you actually make a mistake (as we all do). Being super late, forgetting to call your mother on her birthday, killing bugs [wait, that's just me? Moving on then...]. Real mistakes that you actually caused? Sure, say you are sorry and mean it.

All the other stuff? I am so tired of hearing women apologizing all day long. It sends a message that shouldn't be sent. Along the lines of "I'm not worthy," and "I'm not important." Are you really not worthy of existing? Are you not as important as the dude in the elevator next to you? Of course you are! Stop apologizing for living your life!

P.S. Don't even THINK about apologizing for apologizing ;).

Own it!

Meme Time: Part Deux

Yes, I'm still creating fun little memes in between writing real articles and blog posts. In fact, I am starting to think in memes!

Here are a few of my most recent ones, in case you are up for a chuckle.

Seriously, SO grateful.

This week...and every week.

How did this only just occur to me?

I'm willing to bet that the majority of parents have shown up before Target opens at least once.

True story.

Happy Belated Mother's Day to all my Mama Readers!

I hope you all had a nice Mother's Day! It's impossible for any single day to be "perfect," of course, but I do try to sit back and simply enjoy life a bit more on that day.

I am a sucker for things my kids write about me (or have someone write). My son's Mother's Day letter to me says that I "make good dinners!" That really touched me. His meals are very simple and un-fancy, but it makes me happy to know he looks forward to sitting down each evening and eating and talking with me. It's even sweeter to picture him thinking that and writing it down at school.
